1. Compact, Sleek and Powerful
The first thing you’ll notice is how compact the Dreamegg TR-8080 air purifier is, compared to the big blocky air purifiers we are used to.
But don’t let the size fool you; the TR-8080 air purifier is pretty powerful, thanks to a powerful fan and 360-degree air intake.
With a clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 80 CFM, it purifies air in a 250 square feet space in just 20 minutes.
It can do up to three air exchanges in an hour, giving allergens and pollutants no time to settle in the room.
This makes the Dreamegg TR-8080 a great choice for allergy sufferers and people with asthma.
Its small size means you won’t have trouble finding space for it in the room. It easily fits on a coffee table or bedside cabinet. Another advantage of the small size is portability.
The TR-8080 air purifier weighs just 6lbs, making it easy to move with it from room to room. You can even carry it to a hotel room, Airbnb, or a friend’s house.
The Dreamegg TR-8080 is not just compact; it also looks good. We love the sleek cylindrical design and the unique spiral control panel.
2. 4-in-1 Air Filtration
The Dreamegg TR-8080 uses a combined 4-stage filter to purify indoor air. Here are the various stages in the filter.
Note that the TR-8080 is completely ozone-free. It doesn't contain an ionizer, UV light, or anything that can produce ozone.
3. 4 Fan Speeds
Depending on how dirty the air is and how quiet you want the air purifier to be, you can select one of the four fan-speed modes that the Dreamegg TR-8080 offers.
The lowest fan speed is virtually inaudible. It’s perfect for sleep or when you want to focus on work.
The highest fan speed (Turbo) cleans the air faster, but it’s a bit louder. Most customers say it’s as loud as a desk fan, so it’s not that bad. You can still watch TV or work with the air purifier turned on.
The second and third fan speeds are ideal for everyday use. They are quieter and clean the air fairly quickly.
4. Pet Mode
The Dreamegg TR-8080 is a great choice for homes with pets. The 4-stage filter can handle anything your pet releases, including unpleasant odors, as well as pet dander and other allergens.
It even has a specific mode for pets. When you turn on pet mode, the TR-8080 runs on the Turbo setting for 15 minutes and the level 3 setting for 5 minutes.
This eliminates pet odors, hair and dander quickly. This mode is especially handy after your cat has used the litter box or when your dog has an accident inside the house.
5. Sleep Mode & Night Light
Turning on sleep mode on the Dreamegg TR-8080 air purifier does two things.
One, it reduces fan speed to the lowest setting, allowing you to sleep in almost complete silence.
But if you prefer relaxing white noise, you can turn up the fan speed to the second or third setting.
Two, it turns off all display lights, leaving the bedroom completely dark. This is actually an unusual feature.
Most air purifiers don't turn off all lights even in sleep mode, which can be annoying.
If you don't like to sleep in complete darkness, the Dreamegg TR-8080 also works as a night light. It glows softly. The night light is also great for a kid’s bedroom.
6. Easy to Use Control Panel
In addition to fan speed, sleep mode, and pet mode, the control panel also features a 3-option timer.
You can set the Dreamegg TR-8080 to turn off automatically after 2, 4, or 8 hours.
You can also activate a child lock, which is handy if you want to leave the air purifier in your child’s bedroom.
The control panel also includes a filter replacement indicator.
Issues & Limitations
Not Suitable for a Large Room
The max recommended room size for the Dreamegg TR-8080 air purifier is 250 square feet. It’s suitable for small and medium-size rooms only.
If you are looking for an air purifier for a bigger room, see our HEPA air purifier buying guide, where we review several large-room air purifiers including the Alen BreatheSmart that covers rooms up to 1,100 sq. ft.
No Auto Mode
Many modern air purifiers have an auto mode that monitors indoor air quality and automatically adjusts fan speed accordingly.
Auto mode saves you the trouble of constantly adjusting fan speed yourself. It also saves energy since the air purifier switches to a high fan speed only when necessary.
The Dreamegg TR-8080 doesn't have auto mode. So, it’s up to you to increase the fan speed when indoor air gets polluted, and turn it down again when it clears up.
How the Dreamegg TR-8080 Air Purifier Stands Out
Care and Maintenance
The Dreamegg TR-8080 4-in-1 HEPA filter lasts 6-8 months. When you remove it from the air purifier, you can actually see how dirty it has gotten.
There’s an indicator on the control panel that will light up when it’s time to get a new filter.
To extend the filter’s lifespan and keep it working well, the manufacturer recommends cleaning it every 2-4 weeks with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner.
The Dreamegg TR-8080 air purifier comes with a 1-year warranty. If you register the air purifier on the manufacturer’s website, you get an additional 6-month warranty, for a total 18-month warranty.
