If you struggle with a stuffy nose, smell sensitivity, asthma, or allergies, this is the best HEPA air purifier you’ll get for your money.
Yes, it is more expensive than most other HEPA air purifiers. But we think it’s worth it, and most customers agree.

Best Features
1. High-Performance 3-Stage Filtration
The IQAir HealthPro Plus uses three stages of filtration to remove pollen, mold spores, dander, and other allergens from the air.
It’s the most advanced filtration process we’ve seen in any HEPA air purifier, removing far more and far smaller allergens than other brands.
Here’s what happens at each filtration stage.
Stage 1: PreMax Filter for Micro-Particle Filtration
The first filter is where larger allergens such as pet dander, dust, pollen, and mold spores are filtered out of the air.
As the PreMax filter cleans the air, it also protects the other filters from clogging. This improves airflow through the purifier, filtration efficiency, and the lifespan of the filters.
Stage 2: V5-Cell Filter for Gas and Odor Filtration
The second filter is where gasses and smells are filtered out.
The V5-Cell consists of a granular activated carbon filter that absorbs odors and various gaseous chemicals as well as a pelletized chemisorption filter that targets harmful chemicals like formaldehyde.
Stage 3: Hyper HEPA Filter for Fine and Ultrafine Particle Filtration
Standard HEPA filters can filter out particles as small as 0.3 microns. That’s pretty good. The Hyper HEPA filter in the IQAir HealthPro Plus is better.
It can filter particles as small as 0.003 microns. This includes many viruses, smoke, and fine dust.
That’s why it is the best option for asthma and allergy sufferers. No other air purifier can clean indoor air of virtually all allergens as effectively as IQAir HealthPro Plus.
2. Long Life Filters with Filter Life Monitor
Despite their high-performance filtration, the filters in the IQAir HealthPro Plus last longer than in most HEPA air purifiers.
So even though they are expensive, you don’t have to replace them often.
The PreMax filter lasts 18 months, the V5-Cell for 2 years, and the Hyper HEPA filter 4 years.
IQAir HealthPro Plus has an integrated filter life monitor. When it is time to replace the filters, you’ll see an indicator on the control panel.
3. Quiet Operation
Normally, you have to sacrifice quietness if you want a powerful air purifier. The IQAirHealthPro Plus doesn’t compromise; it’s powerful but quiet.
Even on the highest setting, it sounds like soft white noise. If you are watching TV or talking to someone, you won’t hear it.
At night, switch to the lower fan settings where the fan is almost inaudible.
By the way, the extra-quiet operation is an upgraded feature of the newest version of IQAirHealthPro Plus. According to the company, each fan setting is 7% quieter compared to the older model.
The noise improvement is as a result of a few design changes:
The above may seem like too much just for reducing noise, but the 7% reduction is a big deal. It allows you to enjoy allergen-free air as you sleep without putting up with a jet engine right next to your bed.
Ok, that’s an exaggeration. But some air purifiers can be so loud that it becomes difficult to sleep.
4. Programmable Settings and Indicators
The main adjustable setting is the fan speed. You can choose from six fan speeds, each of which corresponds to an air delivery rate.
The higher the fan speed, the faster the room’s air will be cleaned. However, the fan will be noticeably noisier.
The right fan speed setting depends on how polluted the air is, the size of the room (a bigger room requires a higher fan speed), and noise level preferences.
During sleep, select speeds 1, 2, or 3 to reduce noise.
There’s also a timer setting that allows you to set different fan speeds for different periods or turn the air purifier off at a specific time.
However, you don’t need to stand up and walk to the control panel every time you want to change a setting. The IQAirHealthPro Plus comes with a handy remote control from where you can adjust fan speed, set the timer, and turn the air purifier off.
Limitations
The main limitation of the IQAirHealthPro Plus has nothing to do with its function. It’s money.
The IQAir HealthPro Plus is pricey, costing significantly more than most HEPA air purifiers. But most customers agree they got their money’s worth. No other air purifier can beat IQAir when it comes to keeping nasty allergens out of the air.
The replacement filters are also pricey. Thankfully, you don’t have to replace them often. The most expensive of the three filters, the Hyper HEPA filter, lasts 4 years.
When you compare it to other air purifiers that need to have their filters replaced often, the IQAir suddenly doesn’t look overly expensive to maintain.
