The first thing you’ll notice out of the box is the smaller size of the unit, along with all of the features on the unit’s screen. There’s plenty to go around, creating one of the most seamless, consistent, and quietest portable air conditioner experiences possible.
DeLonghi isn’t hiding mediocre cooling performance behind a smokescreen of cool features -- the America PACAN120EW is on par with the best units in the 12,000 BTU category.
Whisper Mode
The DeLonghi America PACAN120EW has a relatively low decibel rating of 53 on its highest setting, but with one touch of the Whisper Mode button and you've reduced the noise level by almost half.
Whisper Mode seems to be an extremely efficient fan setting that manages to disperse a good amount of cool air without the noise level of a high fan setting.
It’s not recommended to start off on this mode, but rather switch to it when the room is near the temperature level you are aiming for. It’s more of a coasting setting.
Temperature Indicator
The screen on the DeLonghi America PACAN120EW has three different light colors to let you know when you are getting close to your set temperature, and when you actually reach, keeping you informed from across the room.
“Real Feel”
Another great feature of the DeLonghi America PACAN120EW is the Real Feel setting, which helps to balance out the ideal humidity level with your set temperature.
This creates a better atmosphere in the room, and helps to kind of close the gap if the BTU amount isn’t perfectly matched to the space.
